Ingredients
1oz 10 Torr Vacuum Distilled Gin
.75oz Sweet Vermouth (we like Carpano Antica Formula)
.75oz Coconut Oil Fat Washed Campari (recipe below)
Orange Swath Garnish
Technique
Measure and pour all 3 ingredients into a mixing glass, add a generous scoop of ice and stir for 20 revolutions. Using a julep strainer, pour it over a large ice cube or ice ball into a Double Old Fashioned or Bucket Glass and garnish with a large zested swath of orange.
Coconut Oil Fat Washed Campari
For a 750ml Bottle of Campari you will need around 8-10oz of Coconut oil. Pour your bottle of Campari into a small Cambro or plastic container with a strong lid (save the bottle). Heat the coconut oil until it is translucent in a small saucepan, pour it into the Campari and gently whisk it to combine the two ingredients. Seal the container and put it into your freezer overnight. The next day you will have a frozen cap of Coconut oil over the Campari; it should pop right off. Strain your Campari through a fine mesh strainer and funnel it back into your bottle. Voile, you are now a fat washing pro!
